There is a difference between commercial intent (meant for little girls) and general appeal to a wider audience. Yes, the themes are kept simple, so young girls can understand it, but the execution is so good, that more than "just" 6 year old girls can watch the show and enjoy it.
I got similar responses from watching Transformers: "This is just to sell toys." Yes, it sells toys, but the storytelling and themes are such, that one could enjoy the show without giving in to the urge to buy the action figures.
The great bard already knew this, when he wrote:
"What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet."
Which simply means that things get labeled all the time, seemingly limiting or changing their purpose, but imaginative people don't let this stop them to find the true purpose of a good, and enjoy it, despite what others say.
this show is awesome you should watch it lol [link] its funny and silly and epic and amazing and wow ...........O.o i had dreams of this show last night when i went to sleep lol xD can't even stop thinking of this movie XD
In all seriousness though, I personally enjoy the show for its spectacular animation style as well as its written humor. The show was written by the same team that gave us Dexter's Lab and Johnny Bravo so the same humor is behind it.
